Franco Bags First PokerStars Chile Main Event

Chile’s Christopher Franco has got his name written in the history books of PokerStars as he became the first player to win the inaugural PokerStars Festival Chile main event.

The Chilean is very happy and excited to have played in the first event tournament held in his country and also to win it. This is a remarkable feat for Franco and he is basking in the glory of his great success.

The final table saw 112 hands and only 10 hands of heads-up play. Christopher Franco was too good for his opponents on the final table and he emerged victorious after 112 hands. A total of 328 players took part in the PokerStars Festival Chile event that took place over four days. It was held at the gorgeous looking Casino Enjoy Viña del Mar in Viña del Mar in Chile. more

Lawsuit For Players Poker Championship

A lawsuit was filed today in Maryland against a new poker tour. In the lawsuit it was mentioned that, the tour was a fraud, has been accused of doing fraud, and operation of a Ponzi scheme.

The Players Poker Championship was the event organized by Aruba World Championship, it claimed to pay out $200,000 as winning a prize of final table. The event was organized in 2016, and the organizer asked the winning players that their amount will be played later. The organizers lied to the players that delay in payment is because of issues with the Government of Aruban.

The event was organized in the month of November and in the last of December, the winner poker players Stephen Deutsch, Joan Sandoval, John Ott, and Michael Lerner were told that they will receive their respective payment later because of some issues. An email was sent to all the players and informed that funds weren’t available and some arrangement will be done for that soon. more

The playoffs of this event have started off from 29th of November. The finals of the first season of the Global Poker League have started off this week and will culminate soon, an event that first started off from February of this year. Canadian Poker Pro Jonathan Duhamel parts way with PokerStars

PokerNews learned from close sources that Team PokerStars Pro and the Canadian poker professional Jonathan Duhamel will not be partnering in the future. The champion of 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event has parted ways with the PokerStars and not many details have come up about the breakup.

The poker room refused to divulge the contractual terms of Duhamel as well as the reasons for breaking, but it was confirmed by PokerStars that they are no more partners and the information was shared with PokerNews by a representative.

Earlier this month there were rumors of the Duhamel and PokerStars ending the sponsorship deal immediately after Jonathan showed up at World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown at Boucherville, Quebec and the 27 year old poker pro was not wearing the regular PokerStar patch as was normal. You also don’t find the name of Duhamel in the Team PokerStars members list that is published regularly at the website of the poker room.

Duhamel has been a member of the Team PokerStars Pro from January 2011, and presently he is figured in the all time money list of Canada at the second spot. According to HendonMob, his live event earnings have been arrived at 12,786,360. Apart from the 2010 WSOP chief Event victory, Jonathan has a remarkable career results such as the 2011 European Poker Tour Deauville High Roller for €200,000 top place, 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 High Roller on second place with earnings of $634,550 and 2013 WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship second spot with a prize money of $207,630. more
