The registrations for the 2017 World of Poker Tour Legends of Poker $4,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event were closed this Monday.
This event will be held at the Bicycle Hotel and Casino. It is recorded that there was a total of 763 entries that were made for this event this year. This is the second largest field entry for the event and the event has been going on for the past 16 years.
The result of so many field entries has upped the prize money that now stands at $2,738,407. The winner of the event will be taking home a cash prize of $668,692. If you are coming in the top 81 players in this event, then you are sure to go home with some cash prize. The minimum cash that will be offered for the players is $7,135.
Apart from the strong turnout for the WPT event, this year’s event will also be entering the record books for another reason. This is the event when the WPT has awarded its $1,000,000,000 the prize money. So, all in all, everyone who is taking part in this year’s WPT Legends of Poker main event will be part of a historic event. The player who finishes the event in the 49th position will be the one who will receive the billionth dollar offered by the WPT. He will not only get his name in the record books, but the WPT will award him with a buy-in to the 2018 tournament.
The players who finish in the top 47 places will be given a COLOR wine bottle from the new sponsor of the event. After day two of the event, there will only be 90 players out of the 763 plays to remain in the fray. It is Oddie Dardon who has entered the Day 3 of the event as the chip leader.
